5 Whys Marketing LLC is a Cincinnati-based marketing consulting and services firm delivering strategy, websites, content, and other marketing support for clients around the world.
We serve businesses from start-up to F500 in multiple industries, including SaaS, Industrial Manufacturing, Healthcare Technology, Market Research, Financial & Professional Services, and Nonprofits.
With a focus on actionable strategy and strategic execution, we help our clients get to the root of the opportunity to establish a firm marketing foundation for profitable and sustainable growth.
Our Approach
We work as virtual marketing partners, collaborating with clients, as well as an integrated team of preferred providers of A11y, SEO, PPC, social media, design, and web development.
We ask a lot of questions, and we don’t settle for “solutions” that only skim the surface or focus only on the short-term.

Gina Bonar is the Founder and Lead Marketing Partner at 5 Whys Marketing LLC. Writing and strategy are her born talents, and her passion is in finding and creating connections among people, across boundaries and between ideas. She serves clients across multiple industries, including manufacturing, SaaS, marketing research, financial and professional services. Her corporate roles have included US Marketing Leader at Mercer, Lead Client and Industry Marketer at Deloitte, and various marketing and communications roles at Exelon, USG, and Golin Harris. She serves as Co-VP Executive Marketer Community Programming, CMO Roundtable Co-Chair, and Past President of AMA Cincinnati. Gina holds an MS IMC/PR from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and a Kellogg MBA.
Carolyn Dickerson
SEO, Social Media & Digital Strategist
Carolyn Dickerson is a digital marketing consultant with unique analytical and technical capabilities. Experienced in strategic planning, competitive research & analysis, SEO, social media, and technical training, she turns stumbling blocks into stepping stones to deliver leads and ROI using digital and traditional sales and marketing tactics. Carolyn has worked in SaaS, healthcare, the publishing industry, marketing agencies, radio, franchising, among other industries. She holds an MBA from Thomas More College and is a Certified Technical Trainer (CompTIA CTT+).

Rob Bunting is certified in Google AdWords and Google Analytics, a Bing Ads Accredited Professional and Yelp Ads Certified Partner. offering PPC management and Google Analytics consulting services to help businesses grow through online marketing. An Internet marketing professional since 1998, Rob is passionate about applying two decades of experience helping both B2C & B2B firms generate more sales or sales leads online through online marketing strategy development and implementation, website traffic analysis, and search engine marketing.
Beth Kaiser
Designer & Web Developer
Beth Kaiser is a senior digital designer and creative director with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry. She has more than 20 years of experience in digital design, websites that wow, logos that resonate, and emails that are ahead of the curve, and PowerPoint presentations that make anyone look great in front of a crowd. Beth studied Graphic Design at the University of Cincinnati.

Eric Hidgon is a web developer with deep experience in front-end and back-end custom development and management on WordPress. Languages used include Python, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. He is also trained to work with In Design, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Eric holds an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction and a B.S. in Advertising and Public Relations from Pensacola Christian College.
Doug Klocke
Visual Identity & Graphic Design
Doug Klocke provides effective and engaging graphic design and illustration solutions, with more than 20 years of experience. In addition to right-brain creativity, Doug brings left-brain analysis and understanding. With a BS in Finance from the University of Dayton and an MBA from Xavier University, he spent five years in the banking industry. Doug earned his graphic design degree at The College of Mount St. Joseph.

Gwen Griffin Harmon is an accomplished visual, brand, and marketing strategist with broad and deep expertise in graphics, creative direction, web design, and communications from corporate to start-up businesses. A perfect blend of marketing, branding, and online-offline creative services, she designs and presents visuals and content to compete for attention. Gwen holds a B.A. from Wayne State University.

Annie Carl brings a unique perspective to building experiential programs that incorporate customer needs, user experience, and organizational objectives. With more than 20 years in sales, operations, and marketing management, she creates marketing and sales opportunities through business strategy, journey mapping, project management, sales enablement, CRM, trade show programs, virtual conferences, and customer events. Annie has experience in SaaS, manufacturing, healthcare, and nonprofit, and holds a BA in Communications from University of Cincinnati.

Classically trained in CPG marketing with Fortune 50 corporate, elite non-profit higher education and global leading media and agency experience, she has achieved business growth for clients across numerous categories including non-profit, pharma, tech, packaged goods, retail, education, and QSR. Sheryl holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
